[na brah-rin]
Na Bràithrean [na brah-rin] means “the brothers” in Scottish Gaelic. We search hard for the right mother cask to split into a pair of unique Single Malt Scotch Whiskies. Each brother is finished independently using different kinds and sizes of barrels to shape the flavour. Our end product is two bottles of the same spirit with different personalities and characteristics. Our brothers are no different, undoubtedly unique

About Us
We're Andy and Brendan and our company is called Na Bràithrean [na brah-rin], which translates as "The Brothers in Scottish Gaelic. We're independent bottlers of the finest Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
Our interest in our national drink sparked in 2017 and after many tastings, distillery tours and learning more about the world of whisky we became fanatics. Something that fascinated us was learning that 70% of the flavour of whisky came from the cask. We began researching the cask influence. We learned that cask size, cask type and time were the largest factors that shaped the flavour profile of whisky.
Being whisky enthusiasts we loved the idea of having two whiskies side by side that could demonstrate this cask influence. So we set out to create a product and two great drams that stood strong individually but together would allow every level of whisky drinker to experience this effect. This led to the creation of Na Bràithrean (The Brothers) in 2019.
The Brothers
Na Bràithrean translates from the Scottish Gaelic meaning The Brothers. We're called this because all of our bottles are brothers.
We take a single cask and split the liquid inside in half. We finish the two halves separately in different casks for different lengths of time. The half we bottle first is the Wee Brother and the younger of the two bottlings. The second half that is aged slightly longer is bottled as the Big Brother.
These two bottlings will always reflect the high standard of product that Single Malt Scotch Whisky is world renowned for and have their own flavour characteristics with distinct differences between them. However, they were distilled on the same day, spent most of their lives maturing in the same cask and therefore also have many similarities. Here lies the beauty of Na Bràithrean whisky, the drinker is able to see, smell and taste all of these effect.
Our Vision
We believe that there is a whisky for everyone if you've never had a whisky you like you just haven't tried the right one yet. We want whisky to be enjoyed by all whatever way you wish to have your dram. Our whisky will allow enthusiasts to appreciate the drink that they love and adore. Our whisky will also encourage new drinkers to explore what aspects of whisky is to their taste. This is our goal with Na Bràithrean, those who drink whisky already to enjoy experimenting in the differences in our whisky and for those who don't drink whisky to try and find the whisky for you.
Enjoy your undoubtedly unique experience with Na Bràithrean.
